  • Parents.
  • Traditions.
  • Life experiences.

They may also carry:

  • Different memories of childhood.
  • Different experiences within the same family.
  • Different expectations.
  • Old wounds.
  • Unresolved conflicts.
  • Different beliefs about responsibility.

Adult sibling conflict can develop around many issues, including:

  • Jealousy.
  • Comparison.
  • Parenting differences.
  • Caregiving responsibilities.
  • Family businesses.
  • Inheritance.
  • Favouritism.
  • Old childhood roles.
