Courses 6E – Dating in Today’s World – Same Sex relationships

About Course

NOTE: I created this course from my same-sex clients advising there are different scenarios from opposite sex relationships when it comes to dating and relationships.  I am so grateful to my client’s for their input and advice in relation to building this course. Here goes:

Being in a same-sex relationship can be wonderful, loving, exciting and deeply fulfilling.

But relationships do not exist in isolation.

Partners may also navigate questions around:

  • coming out
  • family acceptance
  • social acceptance
  • different levels of openness
  • identity
  • previous relationships
  • internalised shame
  • stereotypes
  • gender expectations
  • sexual identity
  • intimacy
  • friendships and chosen family
  • parenting
  • marriage
  • finances
  • public affection
  • discrimination
  • boundaries with family
  • online dating
  • safety
  • previous relationship trauma.

None of these experiences automatically make a same-sex relationship unhealthy.

However, they can create additional conversations that couples may need to have.

This course helps couples develop the skills to build a relationship based on:

Love rather than fear.
Equality rather than power.
Communication rather than assumptions.
Respect rather than control.
Authenticity rather than pretending.
Partnership rather than competition.
